Police Appeal After Teen Robbed at Knifepoint on Swindon Cycle Path

Police are asking for the public’s help after a young man was robbed at knifepoint in broad daylight on a cycle path in Swindon.

The incident occurred at approximately 4.30pm on Monday, 13th May, between Purton Road and Westmead, a route commonly used by both pedestrians and cyclists.

The victim, an 18-year-old man, was approached by two males — one riding a grey moped, the other on a black Surron-style electric bike. The suspects are said to have threatened the young man with a knife, before stealing both his mobile phone and electric bike.

After the robbery, both offenders were seen heading along the cycle path in the direction of Westmead. The victim’s mobile phone was later recovered, having either been dropped or discarded by the suspects during their escape.

The attackers are described as white males, believed to be between 16 and 18 years old, wearing black clothing, gloves, and face coverings, making identification difficult.

Police are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the vicinity at the time or who has dash cam or CCTV footage from the surrounding area.
