Police appeal after serious Swindon underpass assault

Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked in Swindon in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The incident happened at around 2am on 31 August in the underpass on Whitehall Way, where a 37-year-old man was set upon by a group of suspects. The attackers, described as all wearing dark clothing and balaclavas, left the victim with injuries that, while not thought to be life-changing, required hospital treatment.

A police cordon has been put in place while enquiries continue. Detectives are now keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area or driving past between 1am and 2am and spotted anything out of the ordinary.
