Police appeal after knife point robbery in Swindon alleyway

Police are calling for information after a man was robbed at knifepoint in Swindon during the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The incident took place shortly after 4am in an alleyway close to 47/48 Akers Way. A man in his twenties was approached by two men dressed head-to-toe in black, with their faces covered.

The pair threatened the victim with a knife before forcing him to hand over his wallet. He was then assaulted, sustaining injuries that police say are not believed to be serious.

The wallet was later recovered, although around £40 in cash had been taken.

Officers are now urging anyone living in the Akers Way area to check CCTV or doorbell cameras for any suspicious activity around that time. They are also appealing for witnesses who may have seen or heard anything unusual.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area during the early hours of this morning. Even the smallest detail could prove vital to our enquiries.”
