At Swindon Labour Party’s ‘Heidi’s Big Conversation’ at the Workshed this morning, Council Leader Jim Robbins confirmed that plans to reopen Swindon is Oasis leisure centre will be revealed next month.

At the event, attended by over a hundred Swindonian’s, residents were asked for their opinions on the futures of the Town Centre, the Railway Village and also the Locarno in Old Town.
Speaking to those in attendance, Councillor Robbins revealed he had a number of interesting conversations with various parties interested in investing in the town but also gave details of the reopening of the Oasis which he hoped would happen within the next ‘couple of years.’
”Next month we are taking a report to cabinet that will start the process to get the Oasis reopened in a couple of years time after it has been refurbished” he said.
”It will have a new dome based on the Eden Project, new slides, new wave machine, and a new gym.”
We look forward to seeing the plans and hope that the council are able to reopen the Oasis Leisure Centre as soon as possible.
