Peacocks on Regent Street is to close, while the future of other stores remain in doubt as the chain enters administration.
It is not yet known when the store is set to close, although a closing down sale sign has been put up in the window.
Edinburgh Woollen Mill Group, the owners of brands including Peacocks, filed a notice to appoint administrators in October, stating coronavirus had poorly affected sales.
More bad news for Swindon shoppers is Bonmarche, a few doors down from Peacocks has also announced they will be closing the Swindon branch.
