Are you eager to dedicate your spare time to making a positive impact in the Swindon community? Look no further than Live Well’s upcoming volunteer recruitment session on Wednesday, 28th February, held at Swindon Central Library from 2pm to 4pm.
In a heartwarming example of community spirit, Local Heroes, Paul and Joy, have recently stepped up to care for two adorable chihuahuas while their elderly owner undergoes hospital treatment. Their compassion and willingness to assist with the care of these beloved pets have provided immense comfort to their owner, knowing that her furry companions are in capable hands.
The Local Heroes initiative offers a flexible volunteering platform, allowing individuals to support residents with various one-off tasks during times of need when they lack assistance from friends, family, or resources. Volunteer duties range from light gardening and reading mail to providing transportation to appointments or walking a dog for someone recovering from surgery.
Live Well offers a diverse range of volunteering opportunities, including Swindon Circles befriending, baking birthday cakes for isolated residents, crafting knitted and crocheted items for those in need, becoming a Cancer Champion, and assisting with accessible cycling sessions.
For those interested in making a difference through volunteering, further details can be found on the Live Well Swindon Hub website, by contacting volunteer@swindon.gov.uk or calling 01793 465513.
