A house in Swindon has been issued with a partial closure order in a bid to reduce reports of anti-social behaviour at the address.
The house in Exeter Street, in the Railway Village, is now subject to a three-month partial closure order after it was granted by a judge at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court today.
PC Michael Diffin, who was successful in applying for the order, said: “In recent months, we have received multiple reports of ongoing anti-social behaviour and nuisance both inside and outside the address. This is unacceptable and is quite clearly having a significant impact on other residents who live in the street whose quality of life is being affected.
“In addition to this, it is clear that the current Covid-19 restrictions which have been put in place to safeguard the community are being ignored.
“It is hoped that this closure order will help protect the occupant at the address and significantly reduce the number of incidents or reports of anti-social behaviour within the address as well as the immediate vicinity.”
The order states that only those individuals named on the order are permitted to enter the address, as well as emergency workers and council officers. Anyone found breaching these restrictions may be arrested.
PC Diffin added: “Over the coming months we will conduct regular welfare checks on the occupant and ensure she is receiving the support she requires.”
