Noremarsh Junior School opened its doors to families last Friday, inviting parents to join their children for an engaging morning of mathematics.
The event, led by Ellie Chamberlain, a dedicated Mathematics Teacher at Noremarsh, aimed to provide parents with insights into the world of maths, covering topics ranging from homework strategies to the teaching methods employed in the school.
Miss Chamberlain kicked off the session with an introduction, shedding light on the tools and techniques employed across different year groups. Parents were then invited into the classrooms to actively participate in their child’s ongoing maths lesson.
Feedback from Noremarsh parents highlighted the positive impact of the event. One parent commented, “Lovely to see the children enjoying maths and challenging themselves. Good to see how passionate Noremarsh is at maths.” Another participant expressed, “Brilliant event, would recommend doing more events. Not just maths but English as well.”
Hilary MacMeekin, the Headteacher at Noremarsh Junior School, extended her appreciation to Ellie and the entire Noremarsh team, attributing the success of events like Maths Morning to their dedication. MacMeekin shared, “It is all thanks to Ellie and the Noremarsh team that we can offer events such as Maths Morning. This year has been a great success with over double the number of parents visiting from last year. We are always looking for ways to support our parents at home and value all the feedback from Friday’s event.”
The increased turnout from parents this year showcases the growing interest and enthusiasm for engaging with their children’s education at Noremarsh Junior School.
The positive response indicates a desire for more events that provide insights into various subjects, with parents expressing interest in activities focusing on English as well.
Noremarsh Junior School remains committed to fostering a strong connection between the school and parents, creating a supportive environment that enhances the learning experience for every child.
