Parents whose children are starting primary school in 2021 are being reminded not to forget to apply for their school place.
The closing date for applications is Friday, January 15 2021, and the quickest and easiest way to apply is online via the county council’s website.
Parents need to submit an application form for all children starting school, even if the child already attends an infant school connected to the primary of choice as children do not automatically qualify for a place.
David Haley, Corporate Director for Children Services, said: “To gain a full and clear picture of the schools you are considering, I do suggest you visit before making your preferences.
“This will help to ensure that you find a place for your child where they will be happy and able to get the best from their education.
“You can make changes to your online application right up to the closing date of 15 January 2021.”
Children start primary school in the September after their fourth birthday.

Parents who want their children to attend Swindon Borough Council run primary schools or academies, but live in another local authority area, should apply via the local authority where they live.
