Accountancy and law firm Optimum Professional Services is gearing up for a year of fundraising, this time in aid of Doing It For Dan.
Based in Swindon, Optimum Professional Services has a tradition of supporting a different local charity each year, with the team rallying together to raise funds for various causes over the years.
Last year, they threw their support behind mental health charity Swindon and Gloucestershire Mind, where Payroll Manager Liz Grange went above and beyond by raising an impressive £4,000 through an ultramarathon.
They also take part in numerous national fundraisers, including Red Nose Day, Christmas Jumper Day, and Macmillan’s coffee morning.
For 2024, the team has chosen to lend their support to Doing It For Dan, a Swindon-based charity dedicated to providing grants for sports-related items such as equipment, kit, coaching, and club fees, all aimed at helping young people pursue their sporting dreams. Established in 2016 in memory of 11-year-old Daniel Climance, the charity has been making a significant impact in the community.
Helen Hancock, Dan’s mum and Chair of Trustees at Doing It For Dan, expressed her gratitude, stating, “We are absolutely delighted that Optimum has chosen to support Doing It For Dan this year and look forward to working with their fantastic team to raise both awareness and funds, which will enable us to support more children and young people locally with sporting activities.”
“As a small charity, we are entirely reliant on donations and we are looking forward to an exciting year of fundraising ahead!”
Tracey Heath, Operations Director at Optimum, said: “We feel it is important to do something for the community which we work and live in, plus it gives us an excuse to get together as a team and have some fun. Doing It For Dan is a fantastic charity, and we are looking forward to helping raise some much-needed funds.”
