The Clap For Carers campaign, to honour the hardworking NHS staff, is set to take place this evening at 8pm.
In a gesture of thanks to the frontline healthcare heroes, doctors, nurses, carers, GPs, pharmacists and other NHS staff, people all over the UK will be heading out into their gardens or standing at their windows or on balconies to join in the ‘Clap for our Carers’ campaign.
The Clap For Carers campaign, which started online, is being staged because “during these unprecedented times they need to know we are grateful”, according to the organisers.
During the salute national icons such as the Wembley Arch, the Principality Stadium and the Royal Albert Hall will be lit up in blue as a way to say thank you.
Send in your pictures and videos of you and your neighbours joining in the applause (practising social distancing, of course) and we add them to a gallery.
