As part of the annual safety review carried out by the Traffic and Road Safety Team, several safety improvements have been implemented in Highworth which will benefit the local schools in the area. The team have put up four new flashing school warning signs, to alert drivers that there will be school children on their way to or from school.
They have also refreshed the road markings and installed an informal pedestrian crossing point on Brewery Street, with dropped kerbs and tactile paving which will help the School Crossing Patroller who helps children cross the road near the Co-op twice a day.
