New and improved signage has been erected on the A419 to direct HGV drivers on the most appropriate routes to industrial estates to the north east of Swindon. Working with Highways England and Road Management Services (RMS) Ltd, Swindon Borough Council has delivered a new signing strategy for HGVs to industrial estates including South Marston Park, Dorcan Industrial Estate and G-Park.
The new signs are in addition to existing HGV route signs on local roads and are intended to encourage drivers to use recognised freight routes and reduce the use of routes unsuitable for large vehicles.
Further signage is planned to direct drivers to the new ‘Symmetry Park’, due for completion later in 2017. A new map has been published that provides an opportunity for you (and your friends and family) to explore Swindon’s extensive cycle path network.
