Britannia Construction Ltd, has now finished the kerbing and has laid the new road surface meaning Mead Way will open to traffic today nearly two years after being closed for a £5million widening scheme started.
One lane will remain closed along the road by the subway so a new bridge barrier can be installed.
Stonehill Green will also reopen and full access will be restored.
The roundabout at Westmead Drive and Stonehill Green junction has been converted into a signalised crossroad junction with a toucan crossing for pedestrians to cross Westmead Drive.
