A man has been charged with attempted murder following a serious assault at an address on Broad Street, Swindon, on Monday, 21st March.
Police were called to the incident by the ambulance service at approximately 5.20pm where a woman had suffered what are believed to be life changing injuries as a result of the assault and was taken to hospital, where she remains in a stable condition.
Sezwin Crasto, 21, of Broad Street, Swindon, has been charged with attempted murder and will appear before Swindon Magistrates’ Court this morning.
Another man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, but he has since been released pending no further action.
A police spokesperson said ‘We’d like to reassure the local community that we do not believe there to be any wider threat to the public.
‘Anyone with information on this or witnesses to an incident on Manchester Road moments before, which we understand was witnessed by several members of the public and is related, are asked to call us on 101 and quote crime reference 54220029066.’
