A man has been charged in connection with an attempted kidnap in Swindon earlier this month.
Abdulmawal Ibrahim Adam, 27, of Stanier Street, is accused of attempting to abduct a 17-year-old girl in Fleming Way on 6th March. The teenager was reportedly followed and grabbed while making her way home from work.
Following an investigation, Adam was charged with attempted kidnap and was remanded in custody last night (19th March). He is due to appear before Swindon Magistrates’ Court today (20th March).
The incident sparked concerns within the local community, with residents expressing alarm over the safety of young people in the town centre during late hours.
