A 38-year-old man was assaulted in Old Town, Swindon, last Wednesday and Wiltshire Police are appealing for information.
At approximately 9.45pm on 20 June, the man was punched by another man in Devizes Road, outside The Hop Inn.
It is believed the suspect is known to the man.
PC Keith Larkworthy said: “The victim wasn’t seriously injured but suffered pain to his ear and side of his face.
“Nobody else was involved in the assault, but the pub nearby was busy at the time and this is a busy road, so there is a good chance that this assault was witnessed by customers at the pub, passing pedestrians or drivers.”
