Roads Policing Sergeant Will Ayres highlighted the seriousness of drink driving, stating, “Drink driving is one of the fatal five offences – an offence most likely to cause somebody to be involved in a serious injury or fatal collision.”

“We are currently running a summer road safety campaign highlighting the dangers of committing any of the fatal five offences, reminding drivers that there is simply no excuse when it comes to breaking the law on our roads.

“We will continue to target drivers who fail to abide by the law in an attempt to make our roads as safe as possible.”
