A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of multiple driving offences after failing to stop for police during a pursuit in Swindon in the early hours of this morning.
At around 2am, officers attempted to stop a Mercedes in the Pinehurst area. The driver failed to stop, prompting an authorised pursuit through local streets.
The vehicle reportedly reached double the speed limit along Whitworth Road before turning onto Thames Avenue, where it lost control and collided with a metal fence. Officers quickly boxed in the vehicle and detained the driver.

He also gave a positive drugs wipe for cocaine and cannabis and remains in police custody for questioning.
