Motorists are being warned to allow extra time for their journeys as two busy sections of the motorway will be closed this weekend.
From 9pm tonight, September 4th until to 6am on Monday, September 7th, the eastbound carriageway of the M4 will be closed between junctions 5 and 4b.
This is for resurfacing work around the new Old Slade Lane bridge and to upgrade the carriageway into a smart motorway.
Traffic will be diverted to M25 at J14 via the A4, A3044 and A3113, drivers should head north on the M25 to re-join the M4 at junction 4b.
More information on this closure can be found at Highways England.
There will also be another closure between junctions 13 and 14 westbound from today until Monday for carriageway resurfacing.
Traffic should follow the A3113, A3044 and the A4 to re-join the M4 at junction 15 to continue the journey west.
The motorway will also be closed next weekend between the same times on the westbound carriageway between junctions 4b (M25) and 5 (Langley). This is for the remaining work outstanding on the carriageway work around the new Old Slade Lane Bridge and also the eastbound carriageway between junctions 15 and 14.
