Lydiard Park is set to offer the perfect setting for romance this February, with two exciting events at the recently-refurbished Lydiard Park Hotel. Whether you’re planning a special Valentine’s evening or looking for wedding inspiration, the historic estate provides an idyllic backdrop for lovebirds to enjoy.
The Palm Bar & Restaurant at Lydiard Park Hotel will host a Valentine’s dining experience, inviting guests to indulge in a specially-crafted five-course menu in a refined and intimate atmosphere.

For just £35 per person, couples can enjoy a complimentary glass of prosecco on arrival before being treated to a delicious array of dishes. Starters include baked camembert with sourdough, while main course options feature sea bream with lobster bisque or a hearty duck leg Toulouse casserole. Dessert lovers can delight in a trio of treats, including brandy basket berries, cheesecake, and a rich chocolate brownie. Those with a savoury palate can opt for a selection of cheeses and biscuits, perfectly paired with frozen grapes and tomato relish. The evening concludes with a full selection of speciality teas and freshly-made coffee.
The Valentine’s dining experience is available from 5.30pm on Friday, 14th and Saturday, 15th February. For couples wishing to extend the occasion, the hotel is also offering an overnight stay package. For £150, the package includes the five-course Valentine’s menu, accommodation in one of Lydiard Park Hotel’s stylish en-suite bedrooms, and a full English breakfast the next morning.
For couples who have recently become engaged or those planning their wedding, Lydiard Park Hotel will also be hosting its first wedding show of the year. Taking place on Sunday, 23rd February, from 11am to 3pm, the Wedding Show will feature over 25 of the finest local suppliers, offering inspiration and guidance for the big day. The Main Hall of Lydiard House will be transformed into a stunning wedding ceremony setting, allowing couples to explore options and meet with the hotel’s events team. Entry to the Wedding Show is free.
Councillor Marina Strinkovsky, Cabinet Member for Placemaking and Planning at Swindon Borough Council, commented, “Lydiard House and Park is a truly romantic location, and we want everyone to take full advantage of it. The Valentine’s menu at the Palm Bar & Restaurant is perfect for an intimate meal, and the wedding fair is a fantastic opportunity to explore how you could say ‘I do’ in such a beautiful setting.”
