Lotmead Welcomes Visitors with Refurbished Shop and Café

Lotmead Farm Park and PYO have reopened for the season, greeting visitors with a freshly refurbished café and shop that puts a spotlight on local goods. The upgrades, which include a new kitchen and serving area, have been met with widespread acclaim.

The redesigned shop now offers a broader variety of goods and gifts, alongside beloved staples. Notably, local producers such as Berkeley Farm Dairy, Ray’s Ice Cream, and Malmesbury’s Tracklements condiments have their products featured, adding a delightful local flavour to the experience.

The play area has also been spruced up, and the farm animals have returned to their summer pens, ready to welcome visitors. Mandy Day, shop manager at Lotmead Farm Park and PYO, expressed her excitement: “Despite the challenges presented by the weather this past winter, we’ve been working hard to transform the shop and café into a fresh and welcoming place. We will be starting off with a simple offering and aim to build from there, particularly in response to customer feedback and what people tell us they want to have. We have also introduced a selection of little treats and gifts in the shop, and introduced ready-picked produce for those days when you don’t have time to go into the fields yourself!

“The play area and animals are already proving popular, and families have been keen to come and say hello to their favourites, including Denzil the donkey and Tango the Shetland pony. We’ve also got new faces this year with baby rabbits, guinea pigs, and a young golden pheasant.”

Lotmead Farm Park and PYO is now open daily from 9:30 am until 5:00 pm. Strawberries will be ready to pick next month, but visitors can currently enjoy pre-picked asparagus grown at Lotmead. As the season progresses, raspberries, gooseberries, blackcurrants, red currants, blackberries, broad beans, and sweetcorn will also be available for picking.
