Prepare to be awestruck as Longleat’s iconic Sky Safari returns for three remarkable days of hot air ballooning festivities, spanning from Friday, 8th to Sunday, 10th September.
Immerse yourself in the splendour of the skies above Longleat as it transforms into a canvas adorned with a mesmerising display of over 100 hot air balloons of various shapes and sizes, promising an unforgettable weekend.

Each day of the event offers visitors breathtaking panoramic views and ample photo opportunities as the sky is painted with vibrant balloons. From mass launches that fill the air with a vibrant kaleidoscope to gracefully tethered displays set against the splendid backdrop of Longleat House, the spectacle is truly a feast for the senses.
Early risers are in for an exceptional treat with the stunning sunrise balloon launch, an enchanting sight to behold. Throughout the day, seize the chance to experience up-close encounters with tethered balloons, providing an intimate connection to the artistry of flight.
As the sun sets on late summer evenings, the magic intensifies with the balloons igniting their burners in perfect harmony. Witness an ethereal night glow routine, perfectly choreographed to a medley of beloved tunes, creating an enchanting symphony of light and music.
Adding an extra layer of delight to the event, the Sky Safari boasts a menagerie of special animal-shaped balloons, each a masterpiece of creativity and ingenuity. Among the captivating inflatables are Simbaloo, the regal lion of Longleat; Adelaide the koala; Puddles, Splash, and Tall Steve, the charming penguin trio; the spirited Wes the wolf; and Dolly the sheep.

The international flair of the event is evident in the diverse range of balloon pilots hailing from all corners of the globe. This balloon festival draws participants from as far afield as the United States, creating a truly global gathering of ballooning enthusiasts.
In a thrilling addition to this year’s Sky Safari, visitors will have the privilege of witnessing the inaugural flight of the adorable baby dragon balloon. Inspired by Longleat’s popular summer attraction, The Realm, this whimsical creation adds a new dimension to the concept of fire-breathing dragons.
While the aerial extravaganza takes center stage, remember to explore the other captivating offerings at Longleat. Embark on the Boat Safari for an encounter with boisterous sea lions, majestic gorillas, and the resident hippo of Half Mile Pond. A journey through the Drive-Through Safari brings you face to face with the true kings and queens of the animal kingdom, while a stop at African Village offers the chance to greet the graceful giraffes.
