Roland Dickinson, aged 18 and a resident of Scott Lidgett Crescent in London, has pleaded guilty to drugs offences following an operation by the Wiltshire Police Fortitude Team.
Dickinson was apprehended last Thursday, 4th May after police officers attended an address in Swindon town centre that was suspected to have been taken over by drug dealers. Officers located Dickinson in the property alongside Class A drugs and cash, leading to his arrest.
At the address, officers recovered crack cocaine and heroin worth £1,800, along with £1,000 in cash. Dickinson was subsequently charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession of criminal property.
During a hearing at Swindon Magistrates’ Court yesterday, Dickinson pleaded guilty to the charges. He has been granted bail until his sentencing on July 7th.
T/DS Gareth Snoad said: “This case shows how valuable intelligence provided by the community is and how vital the role is that the community plays in helping us tackle illegal drugs in Swindon.
“I’m pleased we were able to safeguard a vulnerable member of the community and that Dickinson has pleaded guilty to the offences.”
The Wiltshire Police Fortitude Team is responsible for investigating crimes related to drugs and drug trafficking in the area. The team’s work focuses on disrupting the activities of drug dealers and ensuring that they are brought to justice.
