Local businessman takes on London Marathon for Ataxia Telangiectasia charity

A local businessman is set to take part in Sunday’s London Marathon to raise vital funds for a charity that provides support and funding for medical research to speed up the process of identifying a cure for Ataxia Telangiectasia (A-T).

Carl McCulloch will be taking on the 26.2-mile challenge to raise funds for Action for A-T.

A-T is a rare, degenerative condition that affects around 1 in 300,000 births and can affect many different parts of the body and generally appears in early childhood with symptoms progressively worsening, leading to full-time wheelchair use – usually before the early teens.

Carl who owns a number of local businesses including Trak Employment Solutions, has been posting updates on social media ahead of the event said he has supported Action for AT after meeting the CEO of the charity an event around eight years ago saying “The charity does fantastic work in medical research for a life limiting disease in children.

“I know times are so tough right now with everything that is going on with the economy, but if you are in the position to be able to donate and help Action for AT, then they would be so grateful and the money will go a long way.

“If I can get our pot to £2,500 that would be amazing.”
