To celebrate the magic of Christmas, live-in care provider Promedica24 are running a festive competition treating clients and care workers to luxury hampers to get them into the festive spirit.
At the start of December, all of Promedica24’s clients were placed into a raffle and 12 names have been drawn each day in the run up to Christmas. The lucky winners will receive two deluxe hampers, one for themselves, and one for their Promedica24 carer.
The Promedica24 team personally delivered the hampers to the winners (ensuring the prizes were received before Christmas day), including Bob and Marie from Wiltshire, the third and fourth winners of the 12 Days of Christmas Hampers giveaway.
Bob lives on his own with his care worker Kasia. At the beginning of the year, Bob was very poorly but with consistent care and support from the Promedica24 team, is now back to good health.
Delivering the hamper on the day, Promedica24 Care Manager, Lee, commented; “Visiting with my colleague Kerry, Bob and Kasia were overjoyed to receive their hampers.
“Kasia opened hers straight away but Bob wanted to wait as he said he won’t get many Christmas presents to open this year.”
The fourth hamper winner, Marie, is 100 years old and has been supported by Promedica24 for a year and a half. Unfortunately, Marie is currently in hospital but is hoping to recover quickly to return home for Christmas.
Delivering the hamper on the day, and dressed as Santa and his elf, Promedica24 Care Managers, Lee and Kerry, and Marie’s Care Worker Maria, brought much joy to the nurses at the hospital.
Lee continued; “Marie and her care worker Maria have a lovely relationship and Marie refers to her as her angel. Both Marie and Maria were so grateful for their hampers.
“Our Christmas hamper competition is our way of saying thank you to our clients. We also wanted to treat our hard working, compassionate care workers who are dedicated to delivering around the clock, quality care.”
The hampers are filled with luxurious food and drink items including mince pies, coffee and chocolate. Winners are being chosen at random from locations up and down the country.
This campaign follows Promedica24’s 2018 Christmas campaign that was run to raise awareness of loneliness. With over half of all 75-year olds living alone in the UK, it highlighted the issues faced by people who do not have a companion during the festive period.
This year, however, the focus is on the benefits of having a live-in carer and how the service provides much needed companionship and friendship to those in need of care.
Promedica24 provides live-in care, an alternative to residential care, which allows those with care needs to remain in the comfort of their own home.
