A 17-year-old learner driver who was caught by police driving unsupervised and uninsured has been banned from the roads for six months.
The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was seen by a PCSO getting out of the driver’s side of a vehicle in the Penhill area of Swindon back in February.
He was arrested due to the fact that the vehicle was not displaying L plates, he was driving on a provisional licence without supervision and he was not insured.
He appeared at Swindon Youth Court yesterday on Tuesday and pleaded guilty to driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and driving without insurance.
He was fined £120, his licence endorsed with eight penalty points and disqualified from driving for six months.
This investigation was carried out by Operation Ager, a proactive policing operation in Swindon designed to tackle youth crime.
