The recently released Ofsted report, dated 20th September, lauds the high standards and expectations set for pupils. This has translated into improved academic results and an enhanced overall school experience. The report commendably describes Lawn Manor Academy’s students as “polite, considerate, and respectful,” and the school itself as a “calm and purposeful environment where pupils are dedicated to their learning.”

One distinguishing aspect of Lawn Manor Academy is its unique diversity and cultural richness, which sets it apart in Swindon and the surrounding region. The school proudly celebrates this diversity through various events throughout the year, where families from the Lawn Manor Academy community come together to share their backgrounds and cultures. Moreover, the introduction of ‘welcome ambassadors’ plays a crucial role in helping new pupils acclimatise to school life and forge friendships. Ofsted recognises these initiatives as significant contributions to a school community where “diversity is valued and celebrated.”

The school has also introduced a wide range of enriching extra-curricular opportunities that complement and support learning. These include Latin, philosophy, robotics, and LGBTQ clubs. Ofsted acknowledges that pupils eagerly embrace these opportunities for their educational and personal growth.

Sandra Muir, Headteacher at Lawn Manor Academy, expressed her joy at the ‘Good’ rating, saying, “We’re thrilled that Ofsted has rated us as a ‘Good’ school; the report is overwhelmingly positive and we are absolutely delighted by it.

“It was clear throughout the inspection just how much pride there is to be part of the school – from pupils, staff and parents – and how our culture of being welcoming and inclusive is solidly ingrained in everything we do. This has also been captured in the report. It recognises the importance and impact of the Lawn Manor Way and our ILEARN values, which instil independence, a positive attitude and resilience in our pupils.

The achievement is a testament to the hard work and commitment of both the staff and pupils at Lawn Manor Academy. They have consistently gone above and beyond, and their dedication has now been recognised by Ofsted.
