Firefighters in breathing apparatus rescued the casualty from a first floor bedroom who was then initially taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath but has since been transferred to a specialist burns unit at Morriston Hospital, Swansea where they are said to be critical but stable.

Three hose reel jets and a main jet were used to tackle the blaze, together with ten breathing apparatus wearers.

The Service is now carrying out a joint investigation with Wiltshire Police into the cause of the fire.
