Wiltshire Police have launched an investigation following a large disorder in Cranmore Avenue, Swindon, on Thursday night (30 October).
At around 10pm, police received multiple reports of a collision and a fight near the junction of Cranmore Avenue and Crosswood Road.
Officers attended and found two vehicles, a black Volkswagen Golf and a black Ford Focus, had been involved in a collision on Crosswood Road at the junction with Aragon Court.
It is believed that several people exited the Golf and damaged the Focus using weapons before fleeing the scene. Both vehicles have since been seized as part of the investigation.
A red Hyundai found nearby, which may also have been involved, has been seized for examination.
The driver of the Ford Focus, a 56-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and later further arrested on suspicion of going equipped for theft, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, and affray. He remains in custody for questioning.
