‘Inside Longleat’ Returns to Channel 5 for a Second Series

Following the success of the first series earlier this year, Channel 5 has announced the return of Inside Longleat, produced by Bright Branch Media.

The new eight-part series (8 x 60′) once again takes viewers behind the scenes of one of Britain’s oldest and grandest estates, offering a unique insight into the work, people and wildlife that make Longleat a national treasure.

Set in the heart of Wiltshire, the show follows Lord and Lady Bath and their dedicated team as they navigate life across the sprawling 9,000-acre estate through the seasons — spring, summer, autumn and winter.

From the housekeepers of the grand Elizabethan Longleat House to the safari park keepers, foresters, beekeepers, balloonists and event organisers, every corner of the estate plays a role in its year-round story.

The series also ventures beyond the stately home and safari park, showcasing Shearwater Lake, the estate’s restaurants, and the village of Horningsham, home to many of Longleat’s farming tenants. Viewers will even travel as far as Cheddar Gorge, where the Longleat team manages the world-famous caves that form part of the estate’s holdings.

“I still remember as a child, the thrill of winding up the windows as we drove past the monkeys at Longleat,” said Lucy Willis, Commissioning Editor, Unscripted at Channel 5.

“It’s a real treat that Lord and Lady Bath have opened their doors for a second time, offering viewers a ringside seat to all that Longleat has to offer – from conservation work and the stately home to the world-famous safari park.”

Lord Bath added:

“Emma and I are delighted the programme has been recommissioned. This new series shares even more insights into the lives of those who make the estate such a special place to visit, as well as showing how it fits with the wider community of which we are so proud to be a part.”

Jo Pearce, Creative Director of Bright Branch Media, commented:

“We’re delighted to be back at Longleat. The series shines a light on the passionate, warm and dedicated people who make this estate one of a kind. It’s an hour of heartfelt escapism.”

The series was commissioned by Lucy Willis for Channel 5 and executively produced by Jo Pearce, with series producer Ian Durham and director Dominick French for Bright Branch Media.
