Innocent Man Cleared of Suspicion in Taw Hill Distraction Burglary Probe

Following a recent appeal regarding suspected distraction burglaries in the Taw Hill area of Swindon, we are pleased to provide an update regarding the individual who was interviewed in connection with the incidents.

Since the initial appeal, it has been determined that the individual in question, who was shared in a picture circulated by the police, has been found to be innocent. Subsequent investigations revealed that the man is, in fact, a certified housing inspector, and no crime has been committed.

“Last week, we issued an appeal in relation to a number of suspected distraction burglaries in Taw Hill, Swindon.

“Since the appeal was issued, we have interviewed a man in connection with the incidents and we are happy to confirm that no crime has been committed and the man was in fact a certified housing inspector.

“We are still encouraging residents to be vigilant and check ID’s of all trades people.”
