Wiltshire Police have released images of two men they hope to identify as part of the ongoing investigation into the death of 27-year-old Fatih Zengi, who was fatally injured on Manchester Road earlier this summer.
Detectives believe the pair, captured on nearby cameras, may have been in the area at the time and could hold information that would assist the inquiry. Officers stress that the men are sought solely as potential witnesses, and there is no suggestion that either individual is suspected of any offence.
The incident, which took place on 2 July, sparked a major response from both local officers and specialist units. Since then, detectives have pieced together a substantial amount of evidence, but are now turning to the public in the hope of progressing further lines of enquiry.
Those who recognise either man – or the men themselves – are encouraged to contact the investigation team directly through the police’s dedicated Public Portal.
Meanwhile, Erdogan Erdogan, 31, a Turkish national with no fixed address, has entered a plea of not guilty to the murder of Mr Zengi and to a related charge of possessing a bladed article. A trial date has been set for 7 January, with proceedings expected to run for a fortnight.
Police continue to appeal for patience and assistance from the community, reiterating that even the smallest piece of information may prove vital as the investigation moves forward.
