The coronavirus outbreak has had a huge impact on life as we know it, and is something that is affecting you, your family, your neighbours, everybody.
Over a matter of a few days, we went from being able to visit the shops, pop round to family or friends for a cuppa and eat or drink out wherever we wanted – to a near-complete UK lockdown.
The strict but necessary rules have made it incredibly difficult for us to go about our normal lives and for the many independent businesses in and around Swindon to thrive in the way that they are used to.
Many of your favourite shops, pubs, restaurants and coffee shops have been forced to close as a result – some lucky enough to be able to offer a delivery service, but not all.
Nobody knows when life and business will return to normal, which despite some big financial moves by the government, can prove deeply unsettling for owners.
To help our local businesses during these troubled times, we want to give something back.
For the next two months we are offering our website advertising space to local businesses at no cost. With people at home our readership numbers have increased and if a space on our site can help during this downtime then we want to help.
All you need to do is email into getintouch@theswindonian.co.uk with a short description of what your business offers, including a 300×100 pixel image and your website address and we will look to add you to our website.
Whilst we appreciate this is only a small gesture, even if we can put your brand in front of one new interested customer then it’s got to be worth it and for our readers, hopefully they will find out about and support more local firms they may not have known about.
In return all we ask is that you continue to follow The Swindonian, sharing any news you find interesting with your social media followers and when things return back to normal and you are looking for some paid advertising, you know where to come.
T&C’s
We are limited on space so may need to rotate the businesses we are advertising for free. Adverts will be free until June 1st and may be extended at The Swindonian’s discretion. Priority will be given to local businesses still trading during these torrid times that offer a delivery service to our readers.
