Swindonians will go to the polls on Thursday May 6th to vote in local parish and council elections.
If you want to be able to play your part in these vital votes, you need to make sure you are registered to vote.
The deadline for registering to vote in the elections on May 6th is midnight tomorrow – Monday April 19th, so you will need to move quickly.
You may already be registered if you have done it before – but you’ll need to register again if you’ve changed your name, address or nationality since then.
To register you need to go to www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
You will need to be armed with your National Insurance number and will be asked for all your usual details like name, date of birth and address.
The website also has guidance for those who live abroad and want to register and those who want to register by post.
Some people may prefer to vote by post this year, particularly given the coronavirus concerns.
To apply for a postal vote click here and make sure you are registered to vote and then have your form sent in by 5pm on Tuesday April 20th.
