Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes are proudly commemorating the 75th anniversary of the National Health Service (NHS) by making homeownership more attainable for NHS workers through an extended Key Worker Deposit Scheme.
This generous initiative, by Barratt Developments, the UK’s largest housebuilder, aims to express gratitude for the incredible work performed by the NHS.
Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes, both part of Barratt Developments, are dedicated to supporting NHS and frontline workers by prolonging the existing Key Worker Deposit Contribution scheme for an additional six months.
Furthermore, in celebration of the NHS’s 75th anniversary, Barratt Developments is donating £75,000 to three deserving charities: NHS Charities Together, The Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, and the Florence Nightingale Foundation.
The extension of the deposit scheme coincides with the NHS’s momentous milestone and will be accessible for reservations until 15th December. Under this scheme, NHS employees will receive a deposit contribution of £1,000 for every £20,000 of the home’s purchase price. For instance, if the home costs £325,000, NHS workers would qualify for a contribution of £16,250. Additionally, Barratt provides funding for flooring, amounting to up to 1% of the home’s value.
Since its launch in October 2022, the scheme has supported around 2,000 NHS workers, resulting in collective savings exceeding £23 million. This scheme not only benefits the 1.2 million NHS workers but also extends its support to professionals in education, the police force, postal service, fire service, MOD, environmental service, national highways, probation service, prison service, and local authorities.
Steve Mariner, Sales and Marketing Director at Barratt Developments, expressed, “Our Key Worker Deposit Contribution Scheme has enabled 2,000 NHS workers to achieve their dream of owning a new home. Therefore, it is fitting to extend the scheme for another six months as we celebrate the NHS’s 75th anniversary. The NHS cares for over a million people daily and touches all our lives, so through this extended deposit scheme and a total donation of £75,000 to NHS Charities Together, The Great Ormond Street Hospital, and the Florence Nightingale Foundation, we extend our sincere appreciation to all essential frontline workers.”
Barratt David Wilson Homes is currently constructing properties at various developments across Wiltshire, including Birds Marsh View in Chippenham, Hunters Wood in Melksham, and Orchards View, Wichel Fields, and Orchards Rise at Wichelstowe.
