Heatwave to end with a bang as Met Office issues thunderstorm warning

After nearly a week of scorching temperatures, Swindon and much of South West can expect a miserable and rainy few days ahead with thunderstorms to hit the region if the Met Office predictions are correct.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the whole country, starting at 10am today and ending at 11.59pm on Tuesday August 16th with this extended through the South of the country through to 11.59pm on Wednesday.

Forecasters are predicting ‘hit-and-miss thunderstorms’ developing later today into tomorrow, producing some torrential downpours for some areas and possible disruption.
