Amidst the serene gardens of the Prospect Hospice, a poignant and heartfelt ‘Remember Me’ roses display made its debut at the annual garden fete, leaving visitors in awe. This stunning installation featured a thousand meticulously hand-crafted metal roses, each a profound tribute to cherished individuals who have passed away.
The ‘Remember Me’ roses display stands as a poignant and enduring symbol of remembrance, allowing people to honour and cherish the memory of their departed loved ones.

Carolyn Bell, Director of Patient Services at Prospect Hospice, expressed her delight at introducing this moving display to the garden fete this year. “This colourful installation is a poignant marker of how many people our community have loved and lost and how their memory still lives on with those they left behind. As a community charity, we wanted to create an opportunity to bring local people together to remember the lives of the people that matter to them who have sadly died. The stunning display has been appreciated by our patients and their families too as an additional temporary garden feature.”
The outpouring of support from the community has been nothing short of overwhelming, especially considering the challenging times many are facing. Carolyn noted, “We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of our supporters, especially as times are difficult for so many. Every penny raised will help us to continue running the hospice’s vital services, providing care for many people at home and in the hospice, all free of charge to patients and their families in Swindon and Northeast Wiltshire.”
A limited number of roses are still available for purchase until the end of September, with a suggested minimum donation of £30. The generous support of Arval UK has covered the production costs of each rose, ensuring that all donations will directly benefit individuals living with terminal illnesses in the community.

“Supporting the ‘Remember Me’ roses for Prospect Hospice is incredibly important,” said Zoe Maitland, Head of Sustainability at Arval UK. “Not only will they raise valuable funds for the hospice, but they are made from recycled cans, which helps them to be created sustainably. As a result of the initiative, we also collected our colleagues’ empty cans and sent them to the roses’ producers, so they can make more repurposed creations for other worthy causes similar to Prospect Hospice.”
Everyone is welcome to come and see the display which will run until the end of September. Afterwards, the roses will be collected by those who dedicated them to cherish in a special place of their own.
