Swindon Borough Council want you to have your say on ways in which they could manage the town’s waste over the next ten years so they have launched an engagement period for a Waste Strategy which outlines their ideas.
You can find out more about their proposals and then take our quick survey which will be open until 19 October.
They have created the Waste Strategy because as evidenced by the recent Blue Planet II, we all need to start thinking a little more carefully about how we manage our waste.
You may be interested to know that in Swindon, the recycling rate fell from 48% in 2011/12 to 38% in 2016/17 so they have been set a target of 50% by the Government which they need to reach by 2020 so it’s important we come up with a way to manage our waste in a way this is safe, environmentally sound and cost effective.
