Grant & Stone, the builder’s merchant based at Swindon’s IO Centre, has swung into action for Macmillan Cancer Support with an outstanding charity golf day, raising a grand total of £4,775.
The event, which took place at Huntswood Golf Club in Slough, drew in 125 enthusiastic players, including loyal customers, dedicated staff, and supportive suppliers, all eager to make a difference through a competitive 18-hole four-ball tournament.

The day was far from ordinary golf, with a host of fantastic prizes up for grabs to spice up the competition. Highlights included the chance to win an electric golf buggy, an iPhone SE, and Apple AirPods, among other exciting rewards like a digital lock set and vouchers for future golf days. A grand celebratory barbecue rounded off the event, setting the stage for the eagerly awaited prize-giving ceremony, charity raffle, and an auction that saw everyone digging deep to support a crucial cause.
Eliot Ryan, Business Support Manager at Grant & Stone and the driving force behind the event, expressed his pride in the team’s efforts and gratitude to all involved. “We are delighted with the success of this year’s golf day and the fantastic amount raised for such an important cause. A huge thank you to everyone who took part – from the players to the organisers and those who supported us on the day. Without their commitment, we would not have been able to achieve this. Macmillan Cancer Support offers vital care, and we are proud to contribute to their efforts.”
Macmillan Cancer Support plays a vital role for those facing cancer, offering medical assistance, financial guidance, and emotional care for individuals and families affected. The funds raised by Grant & Stone’s charity event will help ensure that no one has to face the challenges of cancer alone, furthering Macmillan’s mission of providing support when it’s needed most.
