South Swindon In Bloom, spearheaded by the South Swindon Parish Council, has achieved the pinnacle of success by clinching a gold award in the highly competitive South West In Bloom competition.
In a resounding victory, South Swindon In Bloom secured the gold accolade in the large town category, surpassing competitors Paignton and Taunton to claim the coveted title of best in class.

The initiative represents a collaborative effort, bringing together various local volunteer groups from across South Swindon, bolstered by the dedication and support of the South Swindon Parish Council staff.
The certificates and trophy were proudly received by Councillor Linda Kasmaty and Deputy-CEO Matt Leather at a prestigious award ceremony held at Truro Cathedral on Tuesday, 3rd October.
The South Swindon in Bloom entry, characterised by its vibrant tapestry of community engagement, horticultural brilliance, and commitment to sustainability, stood out across the three judging criteria.
2023 marked South Swindon In Bloom’s debut in the main competition. The parish council first entered into the South West In Bloom competition in 2019, competing in the Pennant Class, where they were awarded a silver pennant and a trophy for best Victorian park. Two subsequent entries in 2021 and 2022 resulted in Silver-Gilt awards in the Pennant Class.
South Swindon Parish Council expresses its thanks to all the volunteers, parish council staff, and community members who have contributed to this remarkable success.
