Haynes Motor Museum is revving up for an exhilarating summer with a range of new features that promise a fun-fuelled adventure for the whole family.
Located just off the A303 in Sparkford, Somerset, the museum invites visitors to dive into the rich tapestry of motoring history, with an array of interactive exhibits and fresh attractions. Among the highlights are a giant Scalextric track and creative brick building stations, sure to keep both young and old engaged.

The museum has recently unveiled the DriveTribe exhibition, showcasing vehicles from Richard Hammond’s popular social media platform. Car enthusiasts can marvel at ‘Oliver,’ the 1962 Opel Kadett from the Top Gear Botswana Special, alongside a variety of video displays and behind-the-scenes stories that offer an insider’s view of these famous cars.
Families will enjoy the new “3, 2, 1, GO!” trail, which explores the history of vehicles with fewer than four wheels. This engaging trail provides a fascinating look at the evolution of personal transport, from early motorised contraptions to modern innovations.
For those with a creative streak, the brick building stations offer the chance to design your own mode of transport, while the giant Scalextric circuit lets you put your driving skills to the test.
The outdoor car displays bring automotive history to life with an eclectic mix of vehicles. From the classic Austin Super Mini and the legendary Ford Escort Mexico rally car to the quirky Heinkel Kabine bubble car and the charming Tuk Tuk rickshaw, there’s something for every motoring enthusiast.
Don’t miss the new ‘Life on Two Wheels’ exhibition, which delves into the thrilling world of motorcycles through hands-on activities that bring the story of two-wheeled travel to life.
