Gaza’s Barbers, at 75 Faringdon Road, has offered its help to assist in a charitable initiative aimed at supporting underprivileged schoolchildren in Africa.
The collaboration seeks to gather donations of unwanted football shirts and surplus equipment, which will then be transported to Africa next month and distributed amongst local youngsters in need.
Shaun Jones, owner of Swindon Travel Hub, is set to embark on the Kick4Life All-Stars Tour of Lesotho in early March, took to social media to rally support for the cause. His impassioned plea on Facebook urged friends and family to contribute any spare football gear they could spare.
“I’m truly humbled by the overwhelming generosity we’ve witnessed so far,” remarked Shaun Jones, reflecting on the outpouring of support. “Every donated shirt, glove, or shin pad brings us one step closer to brightening the lives of young football players in Lesotho. Let’s see how many new Swindon fans we can adopt in Africa!”
Responding to Shaun’s call to action, Gaza, owner of Gaza’s Barbers, stepped forward to offer his shop as a convenient drop-off point for donations. This partnership will hopefully maximise collection efforts and ensure that no contribution goes unnoticed. “It’s heartening to witness our community unite for such a meaningful cause,” remarked Gaza, emphasising the importance of collective action in effecting positive change.
The Kick4Life tours have given hundreds of people the chance to travel, play football & change lives. During a tour, participants take part in health education and life-skills activities alongside young people, with sessions led by the inspiring team of Kick4Life coaches.
Through the sessions participants discover how the support is helping to change lives in Lesotho. At the end of the training sessions you then take part in playing football against local teams in Lesotho, an experience you will never forget! With stunning scenery, the atmosphere is incredible with sometimes hundreds of supporters singing and dancing throughout the matches.
If you have any kit you would like to donate you can drop it off at Gaza’s Barbers on Faringdon Road between now and March 1st.
