Friendship in Action: Rotary Club Invites Community to Become “Friends of Rotary”

The Rotary Club of Swindon North and Thamesdown is inviting local people to become “Friends of Rotary” — a way to support Rotary’s work in the community without the commitments of full membership.

“Friends of Rotary” are men and women who share Rotary’s values and get involved in projects, fundraising, social gatherings, and service initiatives at a level that suits them.

Club President Terry Williams explained:
“It’s ideal for those who do not have the time or ability to commit to regular meetings or responsibilities. There are no formal duties and no membership fee — people just contribute when they can.”

Your Holiday Starts Now

Becoming a “Friend of Rotary” provides the chance to:

  • Support local and international service projects

  • Take part in fundraising events and community activities

  • Enjoy fellowship and networking opportunities

  • Attend selected speaker meetings

This flexible approach is designed to include like-minded people who want to give back, while enjoying the camaraderie of Rotary, but cannot commit to full membership.

For more details, including an online application form, visit the Friends of Rotary page on the club’s website. Those interested can also get in touch for an informal chat before applying.
