Free entry to Avebury Manor and museum for National Lottery players

The National Trust is offering free entry to Avebury Manor and the Alexander Keiller Museum at Avebury on Wednesday 13th December to National Lottery players.

This is part of a nationwide ‘thank you’ to all those who have purchased lottery tickets and by doing so supported the National Trust, as a recipient of National Lottery funding via grants from  the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Eva Stuetzenberger, Visitor Experience and Enterprises Manager, said: ‘We are delighted to support this initiative and to show our gratitude on behalf of all those special places that have benefitted from the Heritage Lottery Fund.’

Since 1995, the National Trust South West region has received over £28 million pounds in lottery support enabling them to preserve, conserve and tell the stories of their many properties, allowing everyone to benefit from their cultural and natural heritage.

‘December is a wonderful time to visit Avebury,’ continues Eva. ‘Visitors can enjoy a refreshing walk around the ancient stone circles and then come into the Old Farmyard to experience a very warm welcome from our team. You will find Avebury Manor stunningly decorated as ‘Christmas through the ages’, which will bring festive cheer to all the family, the museum full of information about prehistoric Avebury, delicious seasonal food in the café and a wide range of gifts in the shop.’

Any visitor who presents a National Lottery ticket or scratch card on 13 December will be admitted for free.  Full terms and conditions can be found on the National Trust website at https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/features/a-special-thank-you-to-national-lottery-players
