Swindonians with children under the age of 12 can benefit from free child seat checks provided by Wiltshire and Swindon Road Safety Partnership later this week.
With research showing that approximately 1/3 of child car seats are fitted incorrectly this free event could be helpful and may save a life.
The drop-in event will take place this Thursday 27th April between 10am and 3pm at Morrisons in Eldene Drive.
Accredited road safety officers and experts from Child Seat Safety will be on hand to offer guidance and support to parents and guardians on the safe installation of child seats in vehicles when it is appropriate to move up to the next restraint, and general in-car safety.
Before you have your child’s car seat checked, it is important to make sure that it is compatible with your vehicle as not all car seats fit all cars. You can find out if your car seat is compatible with your vehicle by consulting the manufacturer’s instructions or by contacting the manufacturer directly.
