Swindon St George Rugby League FC are staging a fund-raising event tomorrow at Swindon Rugby Club, in aid of former player and club chairman Richard White, while the MECA at Regent Circus will also be hosting SM Fight Club tonight where SSG’s very own Swanny Davis will be donning boxing gloves and taking to the ring in the hope of giving the campaign a considerable boost.
An action packed afternoon has been planned for Sunday at the Rugby Club, kicking off at 12 noon with Junior training and games, followed by 40 minutes of senior men’s League and an equivalent period of Union! There will be a licensed bar and a barbecue topped off with a cash auction and raffle.
A huge response is anticipated in aid of the club legend Richard White. ‘Troll’ as he is affectionately known, has recently undergone major cancer surgery and is likely to be incapacitated for at least six months. With a wife and young family to support, his friends and colleagues at St George have rallied round to help them through a potentially tough time.
