A primary school in Rodbourne has become the first known school in Swindon to announce it will close on Monday.
On a letter sent to parents, less than 24 hours before it was set to open, Mrs Alison, the headteacher, advised that “following union advice and invoking their rights under section 44 of the employment at work act and stating that it is unsafe to be in school.”
This announcement comes after Prime Minister Boris Johnson urged parents to send their children to school tomorrow saying “there is no doubt in my mind that schools are safe.”
Parents are urged to keep an eye on their emails as the school ‘will be in touch with further information for Tuesday onwards.’
