Running from the 1st of December to the 24th of December, this enchanting display is brought to life by the creative minds at Luminism, renowned pioneers in the field of light art. The Enchanted Gardens Light Trail will feature cutting-edge effects, remarkable light art sculptures, and displays that are bound to capture the hearts of Swindon residents.

In an exciting new partnership, South Swindon Parish Council is collaborating with the Friends of Old Town to enhance the food and beverage area surrounding the historic bandstand. This year’s visitors can enjoy a fully licensed bar provided by the beloved Old Town bar, The Tuppenny, along with offerings from other popular local vendors.

Building on last year’s success, the Enchanted Gardens Light Trail will once again host an accessible ‘quiet evening’ on the 11th of December. These evenings are thoughtfully designed for individuals with additional needs, offering a more peaceful experience with reduced crowds. Areas featuring music and sound effects will have lowered volume, and any flashing lighting effects will be either turned off or reduced in intensity.

‘The Lantern Walk,’ a community engagement project in collaboration with local schools, will make a prominent return in this year’s Enchanted Gardens Light Trail. Having been a hit at the previous event, it will play an even more significant role, further fostering community involvement and creativity.

To ensure a fantastic experience for all, a limited number of tickets will be available for the Enchanted Gardens Light Trail, with allocated time slots every 15 minutes starting from 5 pm. Secure your spot online via the Town Gardens website: https://towngardens-swindon.co.uk/enchanted-gardens-light-trail-2023/.

Neil Hopkins, Chair of South Swindon Parish Council, expressed his excitement, saying, “I’m delighted that the light trail is returning to the Town Gardens once again, and we’re thrilled to unveil all the new light installations we have in store for 2023. This year, we’re proud to collaborate with the Friends of Old Town to offer a fantastic selection of food and beverages, all from beloved local vendors.”

Kris Talikowski, Vice-Chair of Old Town Business Association, added, “The Enchanted Light Trail is one of Swindon’s greatest events of the year and we are proud to be helping with the food and drink area to make it an even more delicious experience. Using local suppliers, local entertainers will really bring even more excitement to an already breathtaking event”
