Entrepreneurs and business owners seeking to share their insights and expertise now have a platform to amplify their voices, courtesy of a new speakers’ platform launched by Swindon-based PR consultancy, Scott Media.
Founder Fiona Scott, herself an esteemed speaker, identified a niche in the market for a speakers’ agency catering to individuals new to public speaking who are eager for more opportunities to showcase their knowledge. Scott Media Speakers not only facilitates speaker bookings but also proactively promotes its speakers through its own PR and social media channels.
Lauren Roberts, from Scott Media, revealed that 40 business owners had already enlisted with Scott Media Speakers, which officially launches this March. “We recognized a gap in the market,” Lauren explained. “Many speaker agencies cater to high-ticket speakers, overlooking those in a more accessible price range who may prioritise other motivations besides financial gain or seek to enhance their public speaking skills.”
Scott Media Speakers offers a free membership option for retained clients, with a standard 10 percent agency fee for most paid bookings. Additionally, other businesses can join by invitation only, with a monthly fee of £10 plus VAT (£100 plus VAT annually) and a 25 percent agency fee per paid booking.
Speakers are categorised into four tiers based on factors such as experience level, motivations for speaking (e.g., fundraising for charities), and travel preferences for engagements. Each member receives an online profile featuring a brief biography and their speaking topics, along with active promotion across Scott Media’s social media platforms, podcasts, and YouTube channel.
“We encourage our speakers to leverage their own platforms for self-promotion and share our content,” Lauren emphasised. “By doing so, we aim to expand their speaking opportunities and diversify the range of topics covered by our members.”
